Your home should feel like you
One of my favourite parts of what I do is helping people create spaces they genuinely love coming home to.
When clients first start thinking about window furnishings, they often have an idea of what they need. Maybe it's privacy, blocking the afternoon sun or replacing tired old curtains. But once we start talking, it usually becomes about so much more than that.
Every room has its own personality, and I don't think every window should be treated exactly the same. Your living room might call for soft, flowing sheers that let the light filter through during the day, while a bedroom might need something that creates a cosy retreat. Sometimes adding a beautiful texture or subtle pattern is all it takes to give a room its own character.
That's exactly what we achieved in this lovely Arcadia Vale home.
By combining soft sheers with carefully selected feature window furnishings, we created spaces that feel warm, inviting and comfortable to live in. The natural light is still there, but it's beautifully softened. The views are still enjoyed, and you also gain the privacy every home needs. It is all about finding the right balance.
One thing I always tell my clients is that window furnishings are never an afterthought. They are one of the finishing touches that bring an entire room together. You can have beautiful flooring, furniture and paint colours, but until the windows are dressed properly, something often feels unfinished.
That is why I love taking the time to get to know how people live in their homes. We chat about the rooms they spend the most time in, how the sun moves through the house, the colours they love and how they want each space to feel. From there, we can choose fabrics, textures and styles that work beautifully together.
There is never a single solution that suits every home, and I think that is what makes every project so rewarding. Every family is different, every home is different and every design should reflect that.
If you are building, renovating or simply ready to update a room that is no longer working for you, I would love to help you explore the possibilities. Sometimes the smallest changes make the biggest difference, and the right window furnishings can completely transform the way your home feels.
