Bretti: A Home That Called for Something Bespoke

Some homes ask you to slow down and consider every detail. Bretti was one of them.

For four to five months, we worked with the builder to create window furnishings that felt at home in this unique space. The aim was to complement the home’s character and the natural environment around it. That led us towards soft, natural tones and fabrics with texture you can see and feel.

In the main living area, we paired delicate sheers with linen curtains. The sheers soften the daylight while keeping the room feeling open. Draw the linen across and the mood changes: the space becomes warmer and more intimate, with the fabric’s natural texture adding depth. Together, the layers give the room flexibility without competing with its surroundings.

The linen curtains were made with ties that sit along a timber rod. It is a simple detail, but an important one. The gentle folds, visible ties and warm timber bring a relaxed, handmade quality to the finish. They feel as though they belong to the home, rather than having been added at the end.

Elsewhere, we used Roman blinds in the same texture and colour to carry that feeling through the house. They offer a different shape at the window while keeping the palette connected from room to room. Every choice was considered in relation to the home as a whole.

Projects like Bretti show why we start with the design. Over those months of working alongside the builder, we had the time to understand what each room needed and how the furnishings could become part of the home’s story. There was no reason to introduce a bold colour or a busy pattern when the materials and setting already had so much to say.

Bretti has been one of our most unique and satisfying projects. Seeing the sheers, linen curtains and Roman blinds come together was a lovely reminder of what bespoke furnishings can do. They bring comfort and function, certainly, but they can also help a home feel entirely itself.
